abstract
In the context of the CTA Consortium meeting to be held at Giardini Naxos (Sicily, 22-26 September) there will be the inauguration of the ASTRI telescope, a prototype developed in the perspective of the implementation of the CTA SST (Small Size Telescope) array.

"ASTRI" (Astrofisica con Specchi a Tecnologia Replicante Italiana) is a flagship project of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research related to the next generation IACT (Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescope), within the framework of the CTA (Cherenkov Telescope Array) International Observatory.

The Perugia ASTRI/CTA Team of the Department of Physics and Geology is contributing to the project with the development of the Pointing Monitor Camera, the Mount Control System and the Central Control Software of the Telescope.
The Perugia ASTRI/CTA Team wish to thank all the technical and administrative structures of the Department for the support received in the last two years, hoping in their support also in next years in view of the ASTRI/CTA mini-array of seven telescopes and the final CTA array of 100 telescopes.
